A New Chapter for Tactile Typing
For years, the mobile industry has been dominated by the glass slab, leaving those of us who crave the satisfying click of a physical keyboard to rely on niche accessories or aging hardware. Clicks Technology, the company that brought the tactile experience to modern iPhones and Android devices, is officially changing the game. In 2026, they are moving beyond mere cases to launch their own standalone smartphone: the Clicks Communicator.
Designed for Doing, Not Doomscrolling
Unveiled at CES 2026, the Communicator is a purpose-built Android device that feels like a spiritual successor to the iconic BlackBerry era. Rather than competing with the massive, media-heavy flagships in your pocket, Clicks positions the Communicator as a "second phone"—a tool designed for messaging, productivity, and intentional action. With a 4-inch AMOLED display and a premium, integrated QWERTY keypad, it is built to help users stay connected without the constant pull of endless content consumption.
The Clicks Communicator is the ultimate communication companion, helping you communicate in a noisy world.
The device has seen significant refinement since its initial announcement. Recent updates confirm it will ship with Android 17, 12GB of RAM, and a robust 4,350mAh battery. Beyond the hardware, Clicks has leaned into global accessibility by offering localized keyboard layouts, including QWERTY, AZERTY, and QWERTZ, ensuring that the tactile experience is available to typists worldwide.
A Different Kind of Smartphone
While the Communicator is a fully functional smartphone, it stands apart from the current market by rejecting the "bigger is better" philosophy. By focusing on a compact form factor and a distraction-light interface, it offers a refreshing alternative to the standard smartphone experience. For those of us who have long championed the efficiency of physical keys, the Communicator represents a bold commitment to the idea that our devices should serve our needs, not dictate our attention spans.
