A New Chapter for Tactile Typing
For those of us who still mourn the loss of the classic BlackBerry experience, 2026 has brought a glimmer of hope that feels remarkably solid in the hand. Unihertz, a company that has carved out a niche for itself by ignoring the industry's obsession with glass-slab uniformity, has officially wrapped up its Kickstarter campaign for the Titan 2 Elite. The device, which debuted to significant fanfare at MWC 2026, has officially cemented its place as the most-funded keyboard smartphone in history, pulling in over $4 million from more than 8,800 backers [PhoneArena].
Modern Power, Classic Feel
The Titan 2 Elite is not merely a nostalgia play; it is a surprisingly capable piece of hardware. Beneath its signature physical QWERTY keyboard lies a 4.03-inch 120Hz AMOLED display, providing a crisp, fluid interface for Android 16. Powered by a MediaTek Dimensity processor and 12GB of LPDDR5 memory, the device bridges the gap between the productivity-focused tools of the past and the high-speed connectivity of the 5G era [Liliputing].
The success of the Titan 2 Elite campaign highlights a persistent, global demand for smartphones that prioritize tactile input and productivity over the standard touchscreen-only experience.
While the device is compact, it doesn't skimp on the essentials. It features dual 50MP cameras, NFC, and eSIM support, ensuring that users don't have to sacrifice modern conveniences to enjoy the satisfying click of a real keyboard [Kickstarter]. Unihertz has also committed to five years of OS updates and security patches, a vital promise for a device intended to be a long-term daily driver for power users [Liliputing].
